can i buy a car with no driving license???

I would like to buy a car to use for driving lessons. I have a number of people who say they will take me out but fro one reason or another they can't use their car, i'e. its a work vehicle or their mums or and automatic. My mum thinks i wouldn't be allowed. does anyone know if I can and if so how do i go about it?

There is nothing to stop you from buying a car with no driving license, actually driving it would be a different issue.

I will assume you have a provisional license, so as long as you insured the car you had bought, there should be no problem.  The insurance would probably cost a lot more as you only have a provisional but loads of people buy cars before they pass their test.

get a quote onilne by answering the relevant questions, the cheapest i have found so far is www.elephantinsurance.com yeah cheekychops is correct, you can buy and learn in a car (if its all legit of course) so for 29yrs male i get quoted �500 on a high group car, i dont think there was a difference in price before i got my license, so you should be paying less than me.

You will find that if you hold a provisional licence the insurance is relatively cheaper - they know you must have someone experienced in the car with you. Once you have passed, you will find your insurance goes up!

You may find it difficult to get finance on a vehicle though. Most (but defintely not all) finance companies do not like to finance cars to a provisional licence holder and want a guarantor who holds a full licence.

My students are quoted around �1600 whilst training which drops to around �1200 (so they tell me) when their test is passed.
