Why is there ice in the bottom of my fridge?!

I have a hotpoint FFA71 frost free fridge freezer (fridge on the top, freezer on the bottom). I keep finding water under the salad trays, which is now freezing up and ruining all my fruit and veg. The drain is not at base level but one shelf up, and I have checked its definitely not blocked and the water isn't trickling down from there into the bottom. Yet every day there is water under the trays and total it has formed a block of solid ice. Can anyone please advise what is causing this and how I can stop it?

Thank you.

Hi, we have hotpoint frost free and there is a plug in the hole that you describe. The hole in ours is just under the salad tray on the lefthand side. If we take the plug out the bottom of the fridge gets a lot colder and we get ice in it. But with the plug in it stays at the normal temperature. Could be this that is causing it. Maybe someone else will come up with another idea for you if this is not the case. Good luck with it.

I've just checked and there are no openings of any kind under the salad trays - just solid white fridge-ness! The only hole is the drain I have described above the next shelf up, which doesn't seem to be causing the problem :(
Hi, I meant just below and behind the salad tray on the back wall of the fridge. Ours is a different version to yours so maybe the tray configuration is different. It's about 6 or so inches above the bottom of the fridge.
Our is the same, gets on my nerves always having to wipe it up. Must be what happens with it if we both have the same. Sorry not to be of any help.
I have a different fridge but the same problem so if there are any people that know what's up,that would be great.I keep burger buns in the bottom of the fridge and they are often frozen solid! At least they don't go off quickly ;-)
