- Find one's mother (must be at least 50 years of age).
- Place slightly tipsy mother on sofa.
- Switch on MOBO awards
- Die of laughter as mother makes comments like "What sort of a name is that?" "What on EARTH is she wearing that hat for?" "Why are they all talking at once?"
Admittedly I felt about 40 myself! I realised that unless it's heavily in the charts, black music is something that, as a white person, I'd have to work pretty hard to 'get into'. It's full of cultural references I simply don't understand etc. I don't have a problem with that at all, but for me, if I want spoken word music, I'll stick to The Streets. :-)

Actualy I meant the FIFPRO awards, but there you go. By the way, I don't think you grasp what the MOBO awards are: MUSIC OF BLACK ORIGIN. Black artists perform and win awards at the Brits, white artists perform and win awards at the MOBO's. The needs of other types of music are all covered by awards: country music, rock, classical, etc. The streets have won MOBO's (i think)
