Wow! Seems this has brought back memories for lots of you, so I'm not the only 70s child on here!! Buenchico, I can see where you're coming from with the ready stuffed cone but wouldn't that just make the wafer soft and limp? I know Cornettos aren't soft but their cone is a harder, more biscuity wafer than the square wafer 'cones' from my youth. If I'm honest, I think it's the lazy-always-in-a-rush side of me that has triggered memories of these rectangle, ready wrapped ice-creams. When I got the block of ice-cream out for my son, I had to use a spoon to scoop it up (no good cutting it with a knife as the cone is round (!), then I had to push it down the round cone, more scoops (as one scoop is never big enough), more shovelling it onto the cone, then I had to fold the now soggy cardboard back over the rest of the ice-cream before putting it away and in the mean time, some of the ice-cream had melted around the box or worktop so I had to clear it up (told you I was lazy!). I thought, how easy it would be just to peel a ready block then stick it into the rectangular 'cone'! All I would have to do is throw away the wrapper, or better still, get the child to lick the wrapper and then he can throw it away! I might have to write to Wall's to get them to bring back rectangular cones and matching ice-creams!
