I have just got an iPad. Before I start using it I am considering using a screen protector. Are they worth it? Any difference between an official type for £20 or an Internet few pounds version? Thanks
I've had one on mine since day one, better to be safe than sorry was my reasoning, one of the joys of the iPad is being able to hand it to people who may be less careful than you. I bought two for a fiver from eBay and am still on the first one.
you do need one i scratched mine some how early on luckily it developed a fault so got it replaced under warrenty but ever since its had a protector
che3ep ones are fine I ruined loads trying to get rid of bubbles
clean hands very clean ipad
and only pull a bit of the backing off to start with
have some selotape near by to lift any dust specks that might attatch to the film
To be perverse, I actually got fewer bubbles on the iPad than I did on the iPhone :-). As per fever, clean everything as well as possible and try to find a dust free-ish environment to apply it in, mate of mine swears that the bathroom is the best place! Slow and steady is the ticket.
I have had an iPod Touch for 3 years, an iPhone for two and a half and an iPad since May and non have ever had a screen protector on them. All have wallets that protect them in transit or when not in use, but I do not want anything between my eyes and the hi-quality screen.
I assume they are aimed at people who leave the plastic covering on their car seats for six months after they have bought it.
No, they're for people who don't want to add bulk by putting them into cases and the like. The difference in screen clarity with and without protector is minimal, you do what you want but there is no need to be disparaging of those who choose differently from you.
