Blood donating

Can anyone tell me how long it takes you build up the (almost) pint that you give? I heard it take s about 6 weeks for the platelets, but just wondered how long it would take to regain the fluid.

Hi Danny K, im not entirely sure but i know that it hardly takes long at all, for healthy adults the blood that you will donate hardly makes any difference, as your blood cells will reproduce quickly. I wouldnt say as long as 6 weeks. The complementary biscuits they give you after donating will surely make up for any dizzyness!

As soon as you drink - that's why they give you a cup of tea or a fruit juice after donating.
