People have been shopping today like they will be housebound for a week! Unbelievable number of customers spending cash too, not as much on debit/credit, I have spent all day grumbling about why people would prefer to shop than stop at home when they are of work.

I don't get it. I thought we were all on the poverty line?

I don't know but I went shopping today and it was busier than any of the days pre-Christmas, sales I suppose

well hopefully tomorrow will be nice and quiet and we can tidy up the mess they've made today, New Years Day is usually the quietest day of the year, but maybe that VAT rise looming has spooked folks

I just caught the asda here before they shut at 7 and they had lots of empty shelves, ridicilous,.

I went shopping Tuesday night and it was deader than a dodo in Tesco which is a miracle in my neck of the woods.

Is that the same as Winston Churchill's black dog? I think his was supposed to be depression, but I suspect it was those great big cigars he smoked and all that whisky he drank.
