Hi Guys

Because of my hubbys skin condition he is having to use 50/50 (liquid paraffin in white soft parafin) which is basically grease(!).

The only problem is that it won't wash out of his clothes.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this out?

Thanks all

have you tried the Stain Devils range? They do a grease remover
Washing up liquid always works for me when I get grease spots on my clothes, I don't know if it would work for larger areas though. I usually sqeeze a drop of it onto the stain, rub it in then put in the washing machine and wash as normal.

Thanks for your replies.

Stain Devils would be very expensive to use, it's not just spots of grease but whole patches all over clothes.

Might try the washing up idea - can't hurt anyway!!
defo washing up liquid...might take more than one wash and you need a fairly harsh brand. also helps to soak for a while first x
Using the correct dose of the best detergent would be a good start. Which? Best Buy "especially for greasy, oily stains" is Persil Bio Tablets - the non-bio version is also recommended, but not quite as good. And forget about washing at lower temperatures- you'll have to wash at the hottest that the clothes will allow.
...washing-up liquid and washing-machines NOT a good idea - MUCH too much foam which will be very difficult to rinse away.
Agree with daffy, neat washing up liquid (any make) usually strips off the grease, then wash as normal.
I use a spot stain remover on grease marks on clothes (like when I drop my food up my front, LOL)

Thanks for all the answers.

I do use the correct amount of washing powder and maximum temp is 40 degrees on most of his clothes, which is what I use.

As I can't get to the shops at the mo, I think I will try the washing up liquid option.

I will rub in and leave for a few hours and then rinse before putting in the machine. Can't have gazillions of bubbles everywhere!!

Thanks again all.
If you do use washing up liquid then make sure you rinse it off the clothes before putting them in the washing machine.

Well unless you want a kitchen full of foam.
Oppps..

Apologies, your last reply wasn't there when I started typing.
