How do I get a copy of a decree abslout when married under german law
I am a soldier and when I was posted over in germany I married a german national under german law and the marrige was register in the uk via the embassy.Like most marriges in the army it didnt work and I went through a messy divorces,I then got posted back to the UK and the solicter gave me a letter say I was divorced and free and the rest of my paperwork whould follow me to my next post.Now five years later I wish to get married to a english northen lass and been having trouble getting my decree abslout to give to the registor so I can marry again,can anyone help me ot with anything (I am sorry about my spelling but if I had stuck it at school I wouldnt have ended up in the army)

Do you still have that letter? SAFFA might also be able to offer advice as they may well have come across this problem before, or be able to suggest a solicitor who knows the German system.
