I have a six-month-old Labrador; he is being fed a dry "complete" food mix. I have had two Labradors in the past who were fed tinned food with mixer biscuits. This current dog seems to drink far more water than the others did. Is this normal, and just a consequence of the dry diet?
Mine dont drink any more as I always add some water to the dried food. I would rather it swell slightly before they eat it rather than inside their tummy.
Max is the same as woof's dogs. If I just add water he won't even touch it, he leaves it to set into a soggy mass, a bit of gravy or meat juice and it's gone in no time, but he's always got lots of water available
Depends on which make of dry food - some are very dry and others have a more moist consistency. Add a little warm water although the whole point of dried food is that the water you pay for in tinned food has been extracted.
I always fed my dogs on dry food ! Hate feeding the tinned rubbishy sloppy dog food, dry food is better for their teeth, breath and poos IMHO ! ! Washed down with plenty of fresh cool water......
