And why didn't the postman just slide her letters under her door, leave them with a neibour, put a note through the door saying he'd tried to deliver but couldn't and for her to pick her mail up from the PO?
why refuse all offers of help and to install a postbox?
it defies logic that she would sit and starve, rather than go to the PO to pick up her money. she must have been one stubborn woman to do that
