Well a long shot is better than no shot touchstone. I have been racking my brain with the cricket stump idea and also Joshua tree (U2 album) but a bit vague.

for no 4 I'm thinking along the line of Student Prince and the "precept" could be LAW., but it doesn't make sense to me. Is there a theme to the answers?

The only theme given is in the brackets. I agree law could be part of No. 4 but cannot get the right William
