where were you when you heard john lennon was shot?

Lying in my Liverpool bed aged 11 and my mum was coming out of her room into mine to wake me up for school and i heard her saying back to my dad who was still in bed that John had been shot - i stirred from my sleep and said "is he dead" to which mum obviously replied yes. Sad day and i think it is an outrage that the loonball who killed him is still alive. I seriously believe 25 years on that he should be released on parole but as terms of such parole he is forced to stand in any major Liverpool place such as the steps in front of St Georges Hall and apologise for his crime. I have no doubt that the correct justice would very quickly be meted out. I have equally no doubt that he would refuse parole on these terms. Let the deranged evil maniac rot in hell.
