I'm crying.........over Salmon.
I'm watching Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall's final documentary on fish....and the sight of all those salmon being slaughtered has really gotten to me.
This is not like me.......

I'm watching it too pasta and horrified at the amount of dead fish that is thrown back in to the sea. What a waste!

Yes Jan...that has been emphasised on each of the previous programs....it is a horrific waste-almost immoral.
AS for the slaughter of the salmon-I think it was 20 TONS in a very short period in one night...the reality of it was somewhat gruesome.
Both this weeks and lasts have been extremely effective - I was unaware of how many wild fish were killed to farm salmon, for instance, and the images of perfectly good cod being netted - then just discarded because of the quota system is just plain crazy.

So have I,Lazy. And the idea that rather than feed farmed salmon 'real' fish,they are instead given a manufactured composite says a lot about the industry.
But with such a high consumer demand for salmon, what does he suggest they should do?
I say again though, if fishermen catch more than their quota, they should be heavily fined.
