Whenever I have been sitting for longer than about 10 minutes, especially if I am tired, if I stand up suddenly it makes me very light headed and dizzy. I have had my blood pressure checked recently so I know it isn't that. What could it be?

I've got no medical training whatsoever, but when I was pregnant I used to get this all the time if I stood up suddenly or bent down then got up quickly.  With me it was because I was anaemic, so I was given iron tablets.

i have pernicious anaemia and i have been getting dizzy spells recently as i am low in b12..as soon as i get my injection they will go..i would try taking some iron and c tablets and see if it improves..if you are still concerned go to the doctor again..
liver is apparently a good source of iron if u dont want to take any supplements......
Do not eat too much liver as it's high in Vit A so small amounts per week.  Sounds like Low blood pressure to me.  Take your time when standing from a sitting position.
My daughter has the same thing, the doctor said it is to do with the blood pressure lowering as she stands up - he checked her blood pressure while sitting and then standing. The advice was, as usual these days, drink more water. It's not serious, you just have to learn to live with it and not jump up too quickly.
