as in 'happy'. I can carry a bundle of twigs, pop a bouquet garni into my casserole or enjoy Mr Brains' finest but cannot type 'fag got' in one word. I can watch sea birds, hoover my tufted carpet, buy tobacco but would I get away with typing 'sh ag' on here?

What has happened to the English language? There may be more even more examples you can think of. It just seems rather a sad indictment to me.

My Gran when feeling a bit faint, would announce 'Ooh I came over all queer then'!

We are also rapidly adopting American speech & values eg.
Schedule (once pronounced Shedule, Now Skedule) & one Billion which I was taught meant one Million Million but now means one Thousand Million & there are no doubt many more examples that I cannot think of at the moment. Ron.
