evening friends and foes (if there are any) - seeing as my liver has been so evil i have decided to punish it on my long weekend away to Edinburgh.  i have been there a couple of times before but still finding my way around can anyone tell me of any good places which are namely cheap and fun with good scenery whether it be girls or boys preferably the former - though must say doesnt have to be a gay place no harm in window shoppin is there anyway i digress.  cheapish places for drinking in Edinburgh Merci beaucoup!! xx

If you want straight/student/lively places head for the 'grassmarket' if you want a gay venue then it has to be 'cc blooms' which is right at the end of princess street and is fab.
Try Edwards, thats good in Edinburgh and is always full of get up party goers. Clubwise try subway. But the best place to go is the local strip joint...
Oh my God, stay away from Espionage! That place is free to get into for a reason...

Stay away from subway unless your a complete chav then you would LOVE it ! Nightclub wise- faith, time and Stereo are good for a boogie. Q bar great place to start drinking

Have fun !

Nope most deffo not a chav - and not my kind of peeps to hang around with neither stayin clear of them places already if i wanted chav fun i would stay at home.
Btw - doesnt have to be somewhere funky or studenty or anything just cheap drinks as last year went to one place and was 3 for a lager - i know my liver is evil but im not paying that much to punish it!! lol
Henry J Beans then. They do cocktails and good happy hours nice cheap and its good music too.

Certainly don't go to Subway, or Espionage for that matter. Fridays seem to be a bit quieter these days than they have been in the past, so you have to be careful not to end up paying a fiver to get in somewhere thats going to have 250 people in it all night.

Mood is always busy at the weekends. Drink is dirt cheap early on as well, but its quiet at that time for some reason.

Henry J Beans is a very good shout for somewhere to go prior to a club though.

Have a look at this website.

The Standing Order, in George Street, is one the better members of the Wetherspoon's group. It's a big place - a former bank - with different rooms which seem to take on different atmospheres. Cheap drinks, food served all evening, reasonably classy, separate smoking and non-smoking zones + some of the best haggis, neeps & tatties in Edinburgh!

Chris
There are loads of wee pubs and bars down Rose Street I think it is that runs parallel to and behind Princes Street.  They all have some offer or another on ales etc.  Enjoy!
