72 is a fair innings...
Very sad. R.I.P.
ummm, 72 is nothing these days, my sis is older than that. My mum was 94 when she died, I'm hoping longevity is in the genes!
My Dad was 59 when he died :-((
My husband's Mum was 44 & his Dad 54 when they sadly passed away. Having said that, 72 is still relatively young too.
My husband's Nan & my Granny both died at the age of 98. Now that's what I call a good innings, albeit upsetting at the time.

I don't think it matters what age people are when they die - it's still heartbreaking for the ones left behind.
Well I'm 37 and consider myself to be very lucky to still have a Nan and Grandad (80 and 87)

My Grandads siblings (10) all have lived until their 90's...except him and his Sister who are still in the 80's.....
I agree smudge...I can't see their passing hurting me any less than other family members.
I'm one of 10 too ummmm (although there only 9 of us now), ages 77, 75, 73, 69, 67, 63 (me), 62, 61 & 57! Thankfully, we're all young in mind & body - save for some medical ailments!

My Mum & Dad were 85 & 86 when they passed away & I thought I would never, ever stop grieving it at the time....
