Charities accepting surplus TV's etc

I have recently purchased a new wide screen TV and a HD box so I have no requirement for my current TV , Digibox and stand.

They are both in good working order and I would like them to go to persons who may not be in a position to purchase their own.

Are there any charities who would collect these items?

Our local British Heart Foundation has a furniture store with stuff like this (have seen similar for Oxfam etc). Not sure if they collect.

If you want it collected, you may be better off with Freecycle.

my local air ambulance have liitle shops but alos a warehouse for large household items like furniture etc I have had collect two vans on stuff like washer dryer, tv's, wardrobes. they sell them on cheaply to people who cannot afford new but the money then helps save lives with the air ambulance funding, so you help twice,

google see if there's one near you, mind is cornwall, and try and find tv instuctions so they can go with the tv.

If you call 0844 412 5000 - which is British Heart Foundation, they will tell you which areas they collect (free) in. They will take electrical and furniture items. I know there aren't many charity's who can do this, as they have to have a qualified electrician to check stuff before they can sell it on. rosy

Some of the Hospice shops round here can take electric goods too, but the BHF is the only one I know which has a separate shop for furniture and white goods. Well done you, for thinking of this, and for not just binning it.
