After the post was delivered I saw 2 brown envelopes on the doormat and thought nothing good comes out of a brown envelope and when I saw it was from the Inland Revenue I sighed out loud. You can imagine my amazement when I opened them and it was from the tax credits. They have, after 6 years, eventually sorted out the massive cock up they made and are going to pay me just over £2000! This never happens to me, I was jumping around for joy so much my 6yr old asked if I'd won the lottery!
Way to go tigwig. I opened one yesterday from the Working Tax Credit people to say they had overpaid us by £229 last year but as it was their fault they would not be collecting it back from us. Thank goodness!
Nice one tigwig. My daughter had applied to the Lottery Fund for a grant for the Playgroup she manages and had been told in December that they'd awarded her £300.00.
She got a letter today saying they had got it wrong and had actually awarded the Playgroup £6,800.00. She was well chuffed.
