Persistent warts, spreading.

My 14 yr old daughter has had warts on her fingers for 5 months, our doctor has given 3 types of liquids, to no avail. They are getting larger and spreading. I took her back to the doctor and he informed me that they had "gone too far for him to treat now". I waited 10 weeks for a referall at our local dermotology at the hospital, who today informed me that they would be too painful to freeze off?!?! And gave me more liquid to paint on them. I am in total disbelief that no local clinic will freeze them off, not even the hospital. Am I being fobbed off?

My daughter had a similar problem, nothing seemed to work until her gran said they used to put the affected finger in their mouth and the warts soon disappeared.
I have to say I was skeptical (and a wee bit nauseous) but daughter gave it a go and sure enough, no more warts.
I know it sounds weird and I promise I'm not winding you up, maybe ask some locals of a certain age if they can confirm.

My old Gran came from the West Country and she believed warts could be "charmed off". I don't know whether it worked or they just went naturally as sqad suggests.

McMouse.....yes I have heard of that and also the person who is suffering that affliction, buries a potato at midnight....and the warts disappear........HONEST.

Ultrasound.

My daughter had a huge plantar wart that would not respond to treatment. Then we heard that someone had succeeded with ultrasound. It was difficult to get the physio to give it a go because they had never heard of it.

However it began to shrivel from the first application and eventually fell out after a few treatments.

beso...that is quite a good result, but one wart on the sole of the foot is a different "kettle of fish" from multiple spreading warts on the fingers.

Just talking to my wife about wart problem and she reminded me of when we were courting way back in the 1960`s and she had a large wart on the palm of her hand and she had hers cut out at the hospital, and hasn`t had any since.

Well, they CAN be charmed off,but I realise Sqad would say not. Plenty of proof it works in our family,though.
You can rub the warts with raw meat - a tiny piece of liver is ideal - or with the inside of a broad bean pod, and then bury in the garden where the sufferer doesn't know.

Our GP does minor surgery on things like this. Can you see another doctor in the surgery, or get a second opinion?
