Can we take in our son's pregnant girlfriend
My 16 year old son has got his 15 year old girlfriend pregnant, her family want her to have an abortion but she and my son want to keep the baby. If her family refuse to let her keep the baby what are our rights? Can we allow her to move in with us?

My son was 17 and his gf 15 and 11 months when she got pregnant, they had been together nearly 2 years. The police would not be interested, school will support her and have councillors and tutors in place. My DIL did all her GCSE's with a private tutor at a learning centre where other young people with ilnesses or having babies all studied together,

You actually have no “rights” over the baby at all in this matter. But neither do the girl’s parents. They certainly do not have the right to compel her to have an abortion.
As far as accommodation is concerned the girl cannot leave home without her parents’ consent. If she does she will be classed as a runaway and social services will probably become involved. Of course if she should move in with you with the consent of her parents I doubt that anybody will be any the wiser.
To address some other points made she does not have to have a parent with her to see her GP. The police are unlikely to take any action against either the boy or girl for under age sex. Provided there is no coercion and the age difference is not that great it seems this law is quietly sidelined.
