Has anyone been demoted at work (say from a manager to a secretary). How did you cope???

i haven;t but we have had it happen here where redundancies have come up and manager have moved back into a reps job, in order to keep a job. Some have coped quite well and adjusted easily but others not so.

This happened a few times at BT where people were demoted due to 'non-culpable inefficiency'.........

have been redeployed to a lower graded post as no posts of my own band were available (with pay protection.)..I find the lack of autonomy and responsibility soul destroying
