Soldier leaving message on wrong phone

I read a story yesterday about a soldier, probably in Afganistan who had left a message on what he though was his girlfriends phone but he dialled the wrong number. He told her he loved her about 100 times and asked her to marry him, then went on to say he wouldn't be able to call until next month.

I can't find anything on this now. Has anybody heard if there has been any update? (assuming it wasn't a hoax).

Awwwww! I hope they trace them if it's real! Couldn't they ring him back on the number he dialled on? I should probably read the article before commenting lol...

I heard the message on the TV ;last night, he had a strong accent but not sure if it was geordie, the angel of the north was mentioned and the phone number he rang was that area code.

I think calls from service exchanges/internet phones have withheld numbers

It was so sad. He mentioned that he was upset as someone in his team had just died in action.

He also mentioned that he can't wait until she has his baby.

I don't think they can trace the number Jenna as it was just a recorded message.
I hope it's real and that they do find the girlfriend.

The girlfriend herself must have by now read all the publicity and twigged that it could well be her - surely?

I hope it's not a hoax, and vibes it would be tragic indeed....

Milly not scouse definitely north-east and probably wearside. the message was taken by someone in Gateshead which has the same area code
