I have BT for the telephone which includes ' free weekend and evening calls '.
I have Plus Net for broadband which also includes ' free weekend and evening calls'

I have no complaints with either but am I in effect paying twice for the ' free calls' ?

I have asked them the same question and can't get a proper answer .
There is no such thing as a free service its included in the price but it does mean I'm
paying twice or am I ?

If you pay plusnet and BT then yes you are paying twice.
your question makes no sense.

If you are paying BT for your phone line then you are paying BT and BT alone for your phone calls and using any free call offers from them and them alone.

you are paying plusnet for your broadband only, this does not include any free calls or any offers related to your phone line, your payment to plusnet is for one thing only, your broadband.

I think you are getting a little confused.
Have you checked what you pay Plusnet each month against the published charges?. I pay them 11.99 and get calls from BT. Chuck is ,of course, right but only you can check the sums.
I'm confused too. If something is free, how can you be paying for it once, let alone twice?
I have checked Plusnet on Google & they have two systems
1 Broadband
2 Broadband+'phone(inc free eve & weekend calls)
I think you are paying for the wrong service, stick with BT 'phone & Plusnet Broadband only. Ron.

Thanks for your comments .
your Pkus Net phonenumber must be different from your BT phone number, I have BY total broardband and the bt land line but i have 2 different phone numbers, the broardband one is seperate rates too and alot dearer with no free calls,
I'm sure that you will get a better deal by using ONE provider for BOTH services ie either BT or Plusnet . Paying two providers for two services using the one phoneline seems perverse!

Thanks ! The confusion comes in because they advertise the same product under two different names and then refer to Options 1,2,3. Having checked the account again I realise I'm not paying twice for the phone however as you suggest it may be better to use the same provider for phone and BB. At a quick glance there may not be much in it . Plus Net are owned , I believe , by BT so they may not differ much. However I must admit the last BT bill was rather complicated .

I have just had a phone call from Plus Net and found their advice excellent. They have also saved me £5 a month.
download skype and get all your contacts using it and you know eactly what you've paid for calls - mostly very little.

Mosaic when using Skype do you still pay the line rental.?
You need line rental to have the internet connection. you use skype on the internet. You can make video calls to your friends on skype and talk for no extra cost. You will have to download skype on the internet for free,Its a program you have on your computer.then you make a free account on it and add friends who also have skype on there computer.some download sites try to charge you for the skype program, makesure you search for a free download of it,theres no need to pay for it when you can get it free.I set it up for a friend,I dont use it myself but It took me a while to find the free download.many sites try want to charge you to download it.
