Rover 214 immobiliser problem...
Hi, I've got some issues with starting my rover 214 in that it won't! I'm not sure if it is the immobiliser or the battery, I've tried jump starting the car twice with no success, when I attempt to start it, there is just 1 click from the engine as if it hasn't got enough power from the battery to turnover. then my dad suggested it could be immobiliser so I have tried the whole locking and unlocking thing to disarm the immobiliser but that hasn't worked either. has anyone got any ideas what I could try next? the battery does not seem to be holding it's charge at all as when i remove the jump leads from it (after jump leads being attached for 10-15 minutes), the car struggles to do anything eg. when key is turned, lights on dashboard are very faint and central locking does not work at all. please help. :-(

You have nothing but problems with this rover :)
Have you done the key fob resync procedure?
"Remove the battery, press both buttons together for around 10 seconds, refit the new battery, lock the car with the key, then unlock again with the key, now repeatedly press the lock button on the fob until the car locks, job done"
And 10-15 min on jump leads isn't long enough to charge the battery, put it on a charger overnight and if it still doesn't keep a charge replace it.
