If the Scots call swedes turnips what do they call turnips?

No it isn't see above genetically so diffferent it is unlikely they could now be hybridised

Turnips white usually with purple 'shoulders' swede large woody yellow things
Call the orange fleshed ones 'turnips' and the litlle white peppery ones 'new turnips' (just as in new potatoes) as only seem to get them at a certain time of the year.

My Scottish cousin says the follwing
Scots~Neap English~ Swede Orange round and large
She says that the small hard white round things that the English call Turnips they don't have or eat where she lives (Fife)
