Not a riddle but though you guys were the best to help me with a work issue.
If I worked full time I'd be entitled to 34 days annual leave.
I actually work part time, 3 days one week and 2 the other so get 17 days
Soon I'll be doing my hours over three days every week every week.
What A/L dose that equate to?

They get x weeks leave a year so to have a week off they need to use x hours of leave. part time workers should get the same amount of weeks leave a year but it "costs" them less hours to get a week off. From your figures you are being treated as a 0.5 wte (whole time equivalent) so you get 0.5 of a whole time equivalent's leave. Regardless of how you work your hours, if your hours don't change, your leave doesn't change.
I agree with woofgang if your average weekly hours staying the same, but spread over 3 days a week rather than 2 days one week and 3 the next. If your total hours per year are unchanged you'll get the same number of HOURS holiday a year as you get now.
However if your hours will be increasing by one day a fortnight your entitlement will increase pro rata from 17 to 20.4 days
