I've decided recently that I'd like to host my own forum so which sites offer free and easy to navigate templates? I'd like something that's not too simple if that makes any sense as I'd like to be able to install a wide number of categories there if possible, cheer and thanks in advance.

Use something like phpBB.

If you buy your domain and hosting through a site like 123-reg they have an "automatic set-up" system (possibly called one-click applications or something?)

This would get you started in no time.

Spare.
I use proboards.com. Very customisable and free but you do get a few adverts on it.
You can also check here what features several of the available options have

http://en.wikipedia.o...um_software_%28PHP%29

Look for ones under a GPL license for the free ones.
You can host the website here http://www.goresellers.com/ and also get the reseller plan, hosting, domain name,etc......
