A custody closure is defined as occurring when detainees, or a class of detainee, can no longer be accepted for detention. It focuses on the potential of new detainees to impair the ability of Custody Officers to comply with the Police And Criminal Evidence Act and the responsibilities of the Custody Officer / Duty Inspector and the Duty Superintendent.
