Compound J, when placed in a mass spectrometer produced M and (M+1) peaks in the ratio 10:1.2.
On treatment with bromine it was found that two moles of bromine reacted with one mole of J forming compound K.
a) Write the molecular formula of J, explaining how you arrived at the answer.
