6 Answers
I'm totally blind, so I don't know how Youtube is erm screened...is it a video or what and - in this case - would it be possible to download a song featured into MP3 format, so that I don't have to be stuck in front of my pc to hear the song; I hope all that makes sense? Ta Muchly.

There are two programs that I know of that do audio recording from internet. One is called Freecorder and the other is called Audacity.
Both are free and reasonably widely available. I think Audacity needs some further downloads to enable saving in MP3 format. Others here are more knowledgeable than me.

There are a number of sites and browser plugins that allow you to do this, but it is against the T & C of the site. If you have a phone that "does" YouTube or can handle the content of such services as Spotify or We7 (and a suitable data plan - or use wireless if in the house) it would keep you on the right side of copyright law.
Sorry - just thought: not sure how you would control a phone. If that's no good, a tablet should do the trick. (Depends on how you interact with the device).

This may not be suitable but...
If Firefox is your browser, download the keep-tube 'firefox extension' (from the list on the right hand side) from here:

A 'download' button will appear underneath every Youtube video you watch... press the button and you can download the video to your desktop in either .flv or .mp4 format...
