sexy voices (even though they invariably don't have sexy voices)?

Most often to remove American accents when an advert has been produced in the US and the manufacturer is too tight to pay for a UK version to be shot.

You can usually spot these because, bad dubbing or not, the ads are complete shte.

Air freshener ads seem to spring to mind - Oust and that one with the puffs - they make me scream they're so bad.

The Oust one is absolutely horrid ... the woman at the end saying "wet dog" is actually originally a New York accent and they've tried to glue an English accent over it in this awful way. I see a lot of that being that I'm from America and saw the original ads there ... whereas American advertisers LOOOOVE to get an English accent in their ads in the first place. The greatest laugh for me is when they pull over the adverts that would be somewhat amusing in the States, but make absolutely NO SENSE to use in the UK. I just had to put this answer in as I've been bitching to my husband for ages about the exact same thing, and I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
what about cilit bang, the newest one with the pair of them talking, just use their voices! who cares if their american?!
