The Metrocentre in Gateshead. Over 300 retailers and open late every weeknight.

Yes, I think you'll find that the Metrocentre is one of the largest shopping malls in Europe.  Mind you, it's not too close to the centre of Newcastle itself, but well worth a visit, and allow at least one day to see it all!
