In the cold....blood vessels clamped down....to preserve heat.

Back into the warm, blood vessels opened and the increased blood flow manifested itself with "itchy fingers" which soon settled.
Sorry to butt in ric ror, but did you see my answer to your Desert Island Disc (perfume) question?
Are these chilblains? I had them as a girl - very itchy fingers and toes, especially in cold weather.

Oh I did thank you Gingejbee
I had a look at the perfume too - a bit too pricey for me although I have Hermes Merivilles on at the moment
I love fragrance too so I might get a sample of the Sisley fragrance just to see what its like
Sallabananas - was there any rash or anything with chilblains - the itching does disappear quite quickly esp. if you pop your hands in warm water
No rash ric (that flows nicely.......), but they used to be very red.
Used to get very dry hands in the winter when working outdoors, almost like eczema between my fingers. But a good hand cream sorted it out
