School dinner egg and cheese flan

I remember loving and looking forward to this in my school days.

I know theres a million recipes for this on the net and will soon start on my quest to find one that takes me back to my childhood, but has anyone got a tried and tested recipe that they use and could recommend?

Was this the one which was made with grated cheese and the egg (and usually milk) poured over it and baked or the one which was made with sliced hard-boiled eggs and a cheese sauce poured over and baked?

oh I remember that horrible cheese flan, it was disgusting...we were made to eat our dinners up at school and I used to hide mine in my pocket and it would get all squashy and nasty...but i would think yours was much nicer than mine.

yes omit the milk for single cream or double cream, Line the flan dish with short crust pastry.
Mix 6 eggs with single or double cream and cheese to taste plenty . pour in and flan dish and bake GOOD LOOK !!!
