I've got a really bad headache at the moment. Usually when I get a headache, it never lasts more than a few minutes, maybe half an hour. But I've had one non-stop since I woke up this morning and it's now 7.30pm. It's not a hangover. Should I be concerned? I'm probably over reacting and it happens to people all the time, but because it's never happened to me before, I thought I'd check.

I get headaches all the time, and im pretty sure its nothing to worry about.Try taking some painkillers and eat somthing, then it should go.Some people have headaches for a few days, my mum used to, there was nothing the doctor could do eventually they stoped. Out of interest how old are you and are you male or female?

Could be stress related.  You could be dehydrated or it could be a virus thing...  loads of those doing the rounds atm.

Hope it passes quickly, but if you keep getting them a trip to the opticians might help too.

Hi chin 85, I agree with severen, lots of people suffer headaches of varying degrees. You do not mention if you took painkillers today, and if you did were they able to releive it? If you are concerned it might do to talk to your G.P. even if it is to allay any fears of anything untoward. Some painkillers make a headache worse, ask your local pharacist for advice. Good Luck, headaches are horrible.
I think it's just one of those things.  You're lucky, as it sounds as if you don't suffer too badly.  I had a 7 day headache a couple of weeks ago... seriously.  No amount of ibuprofen would get rid of it :-(
Make sure you drink plenty of water as dehydration can give you a headache.
