Charges for choosing seats
Recently we booked what appeared to be cheap flights to France, As usual, by the time you added in all the extras, it was not so cheap. However, one charge was £9 each to pick our seats in advance. This we did yet when we got the the check- in desk, the travel clerk smiled and said "We have moved the seats to allow a family to sit together". I could hardly complain could I, but I wanted to say, if they had wanted to sit together, why had they not paid for seats as we did. We were still together but in completely different seats. Should we have asked for a refund - and would we ever have got it? Doubtful, but I wont make that mistake again.

If you hadnt have paid extra for seating then fine they can do this but when you have it doesnt seem right and completely defeats the object of providing the service. We went on a long haul flight at Christmas with Thomas Cook and there was 9 of us. We paid £12 each as we wanted to keep the family together. You cant expect other people to move when they have pre paid for their seats. Which airline was it?
