Trying to analyse the shock result in Dancing on Ice last night.I'm convinced the public had no intention of getting rid of Jennifer,and there was a massive anti-JG vote as a result of his outrageous insults to Karen and the skaters.Similar voting kept John Sargent and Jedward in competitions,and put Nick Clegg into power..I believe the only way ITV can restore credibility to this programme would be to dump Jason Gardner,in the same way that Sky dumped their presenters when they overstepped the mark.This would restore Karen to her rightful place on the panel and give the skaters an incentive to do well.
However it seems that many successful TV programmes have the obligatory rude "celebrity" (Anne Robinson,Craig RH,Simon Cowell etc) so I doubt whether ITV will have the guts to do this,unless viewers desert the programme in millions.

Maybe they should just domaway with the whole show. It's tediously long and due to the events you are referring to, has no credibility as a genuine competition.

But a lot of the celebs who go on say its been the best experience of their lives.Unfortunately most of these type of programmes suffer from being too long,with endless action replays (Come Dine With Me e.g) It just needs a good shake-up

Boo,I was just making the point that when people vote tactically against the one they dont want, rather than for the one they do,in any situation, it can produce unexpected results.

how can it be tactics, when the public vote for their favourite (i.e. not the best, just their favourite) that they want to save. judges views, as seen from last night, are immeterial and largley irrelevant.

and why get rid of jason ? we'd just end up with cliche fawning and pandering like on x factor. 'you should be in the final'. 'you have arrived' 'you are a true popstar' 'you've got what it takes' etc etc - its crap and dull and doesn't aid improvement.

and if emma bunton says 'absolutely' one more time my foot will go through the telly.
