Problem fitting new radio in Astra.
2 Answers
I am trying to fit a new radio into my Astra. I have gotten the original radio out and there is a three block connector left in the Astra that slotted into the original stereo. The connector in the Astra is made up of three blocks in a vertical row.
The problem is that the new stereo only has a slot for the bottom two connectors that are in the Astra, so that the top connector pushes against the new stereo preventing the connector from going into the radio.
The three way connector in the Astra appears to be a single piece rather that three pieces joined together so the only way to get the top part off looks to be cutting it away which does not sound like a good idea.
Is this the way that it has to be done or am I missing something? Cheers.

and enable you to put the original stereo back into it.
Otherwise get busy with the wire cutters and crimp connectors.

Thanks chuck, I didn't realise it would be such a handling and needing to but all the extras after having bought the radio. I've a guy said he'd do it for £25 so after looking at the prices of the adapters that looks to be a good deal. He reckoned I would on;y need an aerial adapter so don't know what he's gonna do but I reckon I'll throw the old one back in and get him to sort it.
