Can someone access my wireless internet at home without my password? My mom is convinced that the flashing lights mean that someone is accessing it. Can some one help put her mind at rest?

If the flashing one isn't flashing, then I have no internet connection.. No one should be able to connect with your password unless they know you very well and would know what you have chosen.
If you have security setup on it then doubtful. If you have a computer on then it will possibly be checking for updates or downloading update, but you can log into the admin pages for your router and check what devices are currently attached to it, exactly how to do this depend on the make and model of the router.
I'd also check your computer for malware and viruses if I were you.

No.
Just make sure the password is strong (the originals now usually are) and you take off or change the SSID broadcast name for your wireless network in the router properties. Log in on a webpage to it's settings and check.
If you change the broadcast name (change to something that does not identify the brand or your name) you will have to remove the connection from a wirelessly connected device (like laptop) and reconnect with the password again.
