I love the opening to 'Once Upon A Time in the West'. As with all Sergio Leone films there are very few words and everything is done with looks, stares, squints, glares and camera angles.
'Star Wars' - but you had to be in a cinema in 1977, having never seen anything remotely like this before - ever! It was mindblowing!

You simply can't recapture a feeling like that - we've all seen way too much CGI now ...

Shame.
I was waiting for something to happen, then it finished.
I like the Mission Impossible one where Tom Cruise is rock climbing.

Also, Blade Runner, excellent opening.
Same here andy. I went about 12 times to see that film and it blew me away every time
The first time Star Wars was on TV I taped it (we rented a very early video recorder for a while) and I watched at least once a day, every day for months - I was completely obsessed!!!
Jaws, where the girl swimmer is the first shark victim is a brilliant piece of film-making.......

also the opening few minutes of Swordfish, A Fistful Of Dollars, Close Encounters Of the Third Kind, Bullitt, The Great Escape and The Magnificent Seven ( and yes......Steve Mcqueen is one of my favourite actors......lol )
