How do I know if a ford Ka (year 200) has the ABS, the guy that wants to sell it to me says it does, but I doubt it?

when you take it for a test drive test it yourself. If you need to use cadence braking it aint got ABS

Or when you first switch the ignition on look for an abs warning light, it will go off after a few seconds.
also take for test drive, slam on the brakes, if the pedal pulsates under your foot it has abs, if wheels skid-no abs.

I would stick to the first option - when you first turn on the ignition then a small light that says ABS should light up for about two seconds. If the light flashes then there is a fault with the ABS system.

Mos Kas did not have ABS as standard until about 2003 but it was a cost option, and is more likely on the higher specced models such as the (then) Ka 3

even if it doesnt have abs its a ford ka but if none of the other answers apply you could look under the bonet and if it has it will look like a small aluminium box with about six steel brake pipes coming out of it and ford abs units usualy hav the letters abs printed on the unit. it will probably be on the passenger side behind the battery

it will not necessary have an aluminium box with pipes coming out of it, there are two types non-integral and integral, if you dont know the difference just check for the abs light which will stay on for about 5 seconds while the system does a self test. if faulty the light will stay on!
