Housing Associations

Will Housing Associations still buy properties? I have one to sell and HATE estate agents and a friend of mine said that she has sold two in the past to Housing Associations? Any information/advice would be really useful, thanks.

The only way you'll find out whether your local housing associations are currently interested in buying your type of property is to ask them directly.

Find the contact details for your local HAs from here:
http://portal.tenantservicesauthority.org/
Then phone them up to see if they purchase properties.

However I can't see any direct link between disliking estate agents and wanting to sell to a housing association. I've never used an estate agent when selling a house; I just don't see the point. I've simply advertised the house for sale myself, saving thousands of pounds.

The reason I don't want to sell through an Estate Agent is, I simply don't trust them after being messed around in the past. If you have never sold through one, you wouldn't know. However, the friend that sold to a Housing Association, named her price and got it. The prospect of not haggling with one or more people over the price you want to get for your home is a very attractive one.
