a lifelong dream...
40 Answers
I'm going to Kiruna in Sweden next Saturday for a 4 day husky sledding experience! I'm sooo excited. it's something that I've always wanted to do so I thought it's now or never!
I'm raising money for a local mencap centre where my sister-in-law goes (she has downs syndrome)
anyone else ever fulfilled a lifelong dream or let one pass them by?

I now can see the reasoning for close harnessing - when I walked more than 1 dog on a lead, each of the beggars would go a different side around trees! Shin-on-bark scraping was always a popular feature in my New Forest walks. That downhill run looks scary to me and I would have to switch off the hearing aids with all that excited barking. jubie - you will earn every penny of your sponsorship x
Might be a good idea jubieanna:) But on the other hand when it's that cold the wind won't be blowing so it's kind of a nice cold weather that way, so they say. You should get a woollen Sami cape while you're there. Couple of months ago I went to a travelling market from way up north and they did a "fashion show" featuring really sturdy woollen capes. They said you don't have to wash them often but when you do, they take two days to dry...! But that capability of holding moisture is also what makes them so comfortable to wear.
This is the Luhkka Cape, the modern take on the woollen Sami cape https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r05L2WLdxeY I really want one of those now...! ...but apparently they won't be out till the autumn of 2011:(
