Strawberry plant

I just found last year's strawberry plants which I grew in a basket. The plants look quite healthy (considering they have been wallowing in a heap of rubbish in the garden). If I repot will I get fruit or should I get new ones?

Compost 'em. A year or two old and they won't produce as much fruit.

Buried the end of the shoots in the spring and cut with snips a few weeks later to clone.

the new plantlets will be fine repot new compost and shove the old plants in an area you don't use much any fruit they do make will be welcomed by the birds

Rob and Rowan - do you mean the runners? There doesn't appear to be any runners on them yet, but I assume they will come?

should have runners by now as they should have formed last year....unless it is a very late fruiting variety

Runners usually start in September and start to perk up at this time of year. If I were you I would pot them up and wait and see. They should produce some fruit but not a lot so maybe a few new plants might be an idea too...
