white shaky lines

i have white shaky lines going across my screen , is there anything i can do to cure this ? its getting progressively worse every day ....

Before you buy a new monitor - make (in an art program) a sheet that is just plain white.
Save it as a jpeg (or BMP) disable your screensaver/ monitor switch-off then open the picture and press F11 (so it fills the screen) then just leave it for a couple of hours.
I had something similar and this worked.

thanks for the advice folks , its a desk top Emachine, bought flat monitor with it ,2006 Answer prancer > no to yr question , its hard to describe exactly what the white lines look like .
