Here is a country that has 3 times as many billionaires than we have, is a nuclear power, has its own space programme and is rich enough to donate money to poor African nations each year, and yet most of it's citizens are amongst the poorest in the word. But our Prime Minister pops over to India and pledges £1billion of our money at a time when we need every penny ourselves.
On the other hand India's Commerce Minister popped over to Japan and inked a trade deal with Japan's Foreign Minister, (no need for PMs here I see)

/// In another attempt to boost ties between the two Japan is mulling plans to finance some of India's infrastructure projects.///
What has India got that we haven't, never see any countries dishing out their cash to us, let alone finance any infrastructure projects? .

I would, however, stop aid payments to those countries where we get naff all or have no chance of getting naff all in return.

Suspicious isn't it?
As you point out India can afford a Space program - China is now the worlds second largest economy.
Cameron came in promissing to do something about this and get money going to more deserving causes.
Now all of a sudden it's in both country's interests

Mind you the largest recipient of American aid is Israel and that's mostly in terms of very expensive military hardware.
Seems to me Foreign aid isn't always what we're lead to believe it is.
Something's changed Cameron's mind - I think we should know what it is

/// Britain's aid goals, he said, will be to help the poorest women and girls get quality schooling, healthcare, nutrition and jobs as the key to breaking the cycle of poverty for the next generation. ///
Will that stop them from being potential 'baby machines' producing more and more mouths to feed, thus creating more poverty?
