TV.Afternoon Innuendos

Come Dine With Me, Paz and his cucumber, Coach Trip and their Alpine Horns, Noel on Deal or No Deal, all relying on innuendos and smut not suitable afternoon viewing when the kids are watching thank goodness I can overlook it all as I watch as I choose!

Yes, this modern stuff is all rubbish. They should air some good old-fashioned family entertainment, such as all the 'Carry On' films and 'Are You Being Served'. Then your screen will be totally clear of all innuendo, won't it?

Carry on Films and Are You being Served were never originally shown in the afternoons, have crept in now due to Sky. If they want to emphasis innuendo related shows put them on in after the watershed! I am by no means a prude I can take it but this is afternoon viewing!

my 5 year old son absolutely loves CDWM andhe certainly doesnt get the innuendo.

Carry on and Are You Being Served were never on after the watershed - if they had been I'd never have seen them when I was young and I did (more's the pity). The innuendo is above the kids' heads, they can enjoy it on a different level - same as the likes of The Simpsons.

The Simpsons appeals on so many levels. A classic episode deals with homophobia. Marge befriends an overtly effeminate homosexual (voiced by John Walters), but Homer is oblivious to his sexuality. When Marge explains it to him, he is horrified and refuses to accompany him when he takes the family out. The following morning, Bart comes down for breakfast wearing a "fabulous" multi-coloured Hawaiian shirt and, when Homer asks when where he got it, he replies "Just came out of the closet."

I don't mind the innuendos but it does get a bit boring. Like on Coach Trip with the horns, it was slightly amusing at first but after they have all said it 12 times, it's just not funny anymore.

The newer episodes of The Simpsons are rubbish. They've lost all the humour the old ones had.
