Yes, this modern stuff is all rubbish. They should air some good old- fashioned family entertainmen t, such as all the 'Carry On' films and 'Are You Being Served'. Then your screen will be totally clear of all innuendo, won't it?

The Simpsons appeals on so many levels. A classic episode deals with homophobia. Marge befriends an overtly effeminate homosexual (voiced by John Walters), but Homer is oblivious to his sexuality. When Marge explains it to him, he is horrified and refuses to accompany him when he takes the family out. The following morning, Bart comes down for breakfast wearing a "fabulous" multi-coloured Hawaiian shirt and, when Homer asks when where he got it, he replies "Just came out of the closet."
