...as your least funny comedian....old and new. A couple of mine to start with.
Older male...Jimmy Tarbuck-Lenny Henry
Newer male...Frankie Boyle....Lee Mack
Older female..Jo Brand...Sue Pollard
Newer female ...Miranda ?....dont know any more lol
Tommy Cooper only had to walk on stage and stand there to start me laughing. I can't stand that woman with a geordie accent that appears on the comedy roadshow and has been on Have I Got News For You, I can't think of her name.
It's too broad a question - plus it depends how you classify them, from what you might call the "old" crowd I'd have to lump so many of them together as a lot of them were interchangeable - Jim Davidson, et al. "New" yes I can't stand McIntyre but as with Davidson he represents a whole tiresome genre. It's not just him making lame observations but he's the one we all remember. It obviously works as he's hugely successful, but I suppose it's a bit like some types of music, TV shows etc - bland, safe stuff seems to have wide appeal.
I hate Roy Chubby Brown, Lenny Henry, Job Brand and Miranda Harte.
I used to love Eddie Izzard, but his last stand up tour wasn't up to much.
I like Shappi Khorsandi, Russel Howard, Dara O'Briein and David Mitchell (even though he doesn't do stand up he's very funny, as is Charlie Brooker.
I don't normally like female comedians but there is one at the moment who I find really funny. Can't remember what her name is but she is a jordie I think, short blondish hair and was talking recently about how her divorce got her a name in comdey.
The ones I really don't like are usually black comdians and this is because they often only have jokes about being black. Some of the jokes are funny but it gets really boring when it's all they have to talk about. Gina Yasheri is one of them.
I'm so glad there are others who don't like Miranda Hart, I really don't get her at all, nor all the fuss made about her. One of the most hyped yet awful comedy programmes of recent years.
I have to agree with Buenchico re Rudy's Rare Records. I only listen cos I'm usually washing the dishes and I'm scared to touch the set with wet hands. Sounds like a bad school play.
